Objectives

Rehabilitation of homes to preserve the dignity of their occupants and protect them from the effects of cold weather (rain and snow).

Activities

  • Start the assessment in the targeted locations using (community observation and interview methods) to select the partly damaged housing units that submitted to the created criteria.
  • Starting to select the most 60 damaged houses and needed families according to the agreed criteria by submitting all the collected information to a scoring system and this system will choose the most vulnerable 60 housing units which will be the specific targeted houses.
  • Obtaining a confirmation from the Mukhtar of the targeted villages, stating that the beneficiary lives in the village.
  • Organizing field visits to the targeted villages and preparing 60 bills of quantities for the damaged homes to rehabilitate them according to engineering specifications.
  • Starting the work of implementing the rehabilitation of the damaged house according to the bill of quantities prepared by the engineer of the CAPNI organization
  • Daily field visits to work sites for all targeted villages to obtain the best engineering implementation of the work done for homes.
  • Continuous communication with suppliers of construction materials to obtain the best types in the market.
  • Obtaining housing confirmation from the village mukhtars for all the targeted families to rehabilitate their homes.
  • After the implementation of the rehabilitation of 60 damaged houses, remained 7,697,000 from the budget allocated for the project after consultation and approval of the donor, it was decided to rehabilitate additional houses.
  • With the same criteria used to select the 60 most damaged houses for rehabilitation, three additional houses were selected for rehabilitation from the funds that remained.
