Activities

CAPNI implemented a health training program, for the health care providers in families who live in Faysh-Khabur village that has one or more person with special needs or old age persons who has chronic diseases or needs special care, the training results added a positive impact on improving the participants capacity and skills in caring for those groups and gain knowledge in how to follow up their medical condition in proper and correct ways.

The training program focused on three main health subjects which are the following

  1. First-aid measures in medical and surgical emergencies.
  2. Personal and house hygiene measures to prevent communicable diseases.
  3. Basic information on chronic diseases and follow-up measures (with training on some skills like blood pressure measurement and blood sugar measurement).

The program selected 40 females from Feshkhaboor village who provide care for one or more in their families.

The selection was according to the designed selection criteria.

  1. Women
  2.  They have one or more than one member in their family who needs health care.
  3. Have family members with People with special needs and need health care.
  4. Low economic status and limited income, with higher expenses and demands from the health care expenditures.

The training work plan was weekly sessions with lectures and practical training.

The training also included pre and post-test with a trainer weekly evaluation for the participants to scale the knowledge gained by the participants in the program.

The training program is designed, for four months and each month had 4 training sessions (one and half hours per session), which the participants at the end fulfilled 16 training sessions in four months (24 hours of training course).
