These characters, which CAPNI is proud of, could not have been achieved without the continued support and commitment of the partners, both in terms of program funding and guidance and capacity development.
What Is The Organization Characterized By
With the growth and development of CAPNI and the accumulation of its own experience gained over decades, CAPNI has a set of qualities that adds value to it.
Stability, Growth and Sustainability Since 1993
CAPNI is one of couple local organizations formed after 1991 Gulf War that has continued to operate and grow without interruption to this day. The growth is in quality and quantity of the programs, donor partners, financial resources, staff skills, office operating procedures and regulations, etc.
Attention To The Eastern Christian Identity
CAPNI is the only organization with a special sector whose focus is to take care, preservation and development of the Eastern Christian identity through programs for the development of churches capacity (ritual courses, printing books, etc.), or through annual programs to support the Syriac language which is one of the most important elements of the Eastern Christian identity as it is the library language and the 2,000-year heritage of Eastern Christianity.
Wide Network Abroad
The decades of the organization’s growth, development and credibility have accumulated a wide network of relations at the international level.
This is reflected in the multiplicity and diversity of partners (geographically, professionally, institutionally (governmental, church, organizations)) and the media presence of CAPNI (television, newspapers, conferences), as well as the presence in decision-making activities and platforms, e.g., parliaments, UN, etc.
Christian Identity
CAPNI is an organization known to all at the governmental and community level and in all its areas of work as a Christian organization that works with Christian testimony, principles and values, not only to Christians, but to all vulnerable and needy people.
Political And Sectarian Independence
CAPNI has been able to demonstrate its commitment to independence in decision-making, programs and beneficiaries of these programs, while maintaining close relations with government and community authorities, through the adoption of professionalism and transparency in its work.
Wide Network At Home
The sincere, committed and stable work of CAPNI over decades has created an extensive cumulative relationship at home with governmental offices, religious and community references, and strong direct relations with the beneficiaries as well as with local NGOs.
Initiatives That Do Not Exist/Practiced Before
In order to improve its performance and services, CAPNI has initiated several new initiatives which were missed at the level of local organizations, such as the adoption of two levels in the organizational structure (the board of directors and the executive structure), the international institutional annual audit, the reception of local young volunteers, receiving interns from abroad through partners, annual round table meeting with the partners.
Ecumenical Spirit
CAPNI is almost the only Christian institution that is committed to ecumenism in its structure, decisions and programs. For example, CAPNI is the only Christian humanitarian organization that has built/rehabilitated churches for all churches denominations in Iraq, in addition to the catechesis, pastoral and capacity building programs to and with all churches.
Therefore, CAPNI earned the confidence of the clergy and the faithful people of all churches, as well as the honor of becoming the umbrella that brings together the clergy and youth of the various churches in activities and meetings with partners.
Adoption Of A True Partnership
CAPNI believes that its partnership with donor partners is broader and deeper than the signed projects’ agreements. The partnership that CAPNI believes and is committed to, is a partnership in vision and objectives. This partnership is based on respect and mutual trust in various levels and dealings, knowledge transfer, sharing experiences, joined handling of the failures and weaknesses. CAPNI believes in a partnership that leads to completion not competition. Among the principles adhered to by CAPNI is: It is not important who is doing, but what is been done? This partnership and mutual trust have led CAPNI and its partners to be the only local organization that has annual roundtable meetings with its partners.
