The Advocacy sector of CAPNI Organization, as part of the JISRA Project, organized a three-day training session on Conflict Transformation in July 2023. The session took place at the Saint Gorgis Cultural Complex in Bashiqa.

The training workshop was attended by young people, civil activists, and academics of both genders representing their components from Bashiqa and Al-Hamdaniya, including Muslims, Christians, Kakais, and Yezidis.
The training covered various topics, including:
1. Differences in identity and commonalities.
2. Defining societal conflict and influencing identities (the pizza model).
3. The Galtung Triangle of Conflict.
4. The five factors influencing conflict management.
5. Mediation.
6. Mediator skills.
As a visitor, Mr. Youssef, an anthropological researcher, and a doctoral candidate, attended the training and mentioned, “The JISRA has benefited me by allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of the beautiful mosaic of the Nineveh Plain communities, representing a diverse tapestry that many countries in the region and the world lack and envy. These components have been living as neighbors for hundreds of years, and this will all be reflected in my thesis, which expresses the harmony and integration among the components in the Nineveh Plain and their coexistence in this specific geographic area, along with the impact of time and events on them, as well as the challenges and how to overcome them. Participation and observation in the field and interaction with these personalities have greatly benefited my knowledge and work.”
