The Advocacy sector of CAPNI Organization held a workshop for two days, 13 and 14 May 2023, on “Advocacy Campaigns and Legal Legislation within the Iraqi Legislative Framework”, which was delivered by Dr. Ali Bakht, an adviser in the Iraqi Council of Representatives and a doctor in anthropology
This workshop aims to equip the advocacy staff with the knowledge and skills to influence the legislative process, engage with policymakers effectively, and conduct successful advocacy campaigns. The workshop covered the following topics:
1. Understand the legislative process and the roles of the various actors.
2. Develop an advocacy strategy and plan.
3. How to build effective partnerships and alliances with Iraqi decision-makers.
4. Dealing with decision-makers and stakeholders.
5. Carrying out effective advocacy campaigns.
6. Evaluate advocacy efforts and measure impact.
