Mr. Michael Sameer (Monitoring and Evaluation Officer within the JISRA Project), along with members of the Community Committee of the CAPNI Organization, including Ms. Kalhan Luqman, Mr. Mohammed Dahham, Miss Rita Ammanoel, Mr. Nashwan Salman, Mr. Amer Abdulwahd, and Miss Siraj Ali, participated in a three-day training session on “Negotiation, Mediation, and Conflict Management” in Erbil, Iraq, as part of the JISRA Project which was held in August 2023.
This training workshop was facilitated by Dr. Ali Bakht, with the support and presence of Mr. Rama Baito (JISRA Project Coordinator).
The training covered various topics, including:
1. The concept of negotiation.
2. Negotiation skills in a multicultural country.
3. Negotiation principles and approaches.
4. Negotiation questions and managing the negotiation team.
5. Effective communication.
6. Integration and differentiation in conflict management.
7. Local and international models for conflict resolution.
Later, Dr. Ali Bakht invited all the members of the CAPNI to attend a discussion session titled “Enhancing Transitional Justice,” presented by Ufuq Organization. The session was attended by 25 participants, including government officials, Yezidi survivors, civil activists, and academics from various components of Iraqi society.
The session included several segments:
1. Transitional Justice: concept and mechanisms.
2. Paths of transitional justice in Iraq.
3. The institutional and legal framework of transitional justice in Iraq.
4. The role of transitional justice in breaking the cycle of conflict.
5. The participation of victims in shaping transitional justice policies
