Goal

The goal is to enhance the well-being of families who have returned to the Batnaya region by implementing various initiatives. These include improving the financial circumstances of families, promoting environmental consciousness, providing assistance and enhancing the skills of local farmers to boost the agricultural sector, as well as elevating the economic and social status of women in the town through a range of activities.

Project Description: The Batnaya area has suffered from economic challenges since 2014 due to displacement, suffering, and political instability. The local economy is stagnant with limited activities, high unemployment rates, and challenges in the agricultural sector. Through training, professional development, and material support, the project aims to improve the situation of the community.

The environment in the area has also been neglected and damaged, hence implementing projects that promote environmental conservation is necessary. These include increasing green spaces, spreading environmental awareness, and reducing pollution rates.

Activities

  • Employing (35) workers for 10 days to plant 2000 seedlings and 500 trees during the project period.
  • Providing financial support in the form of soft loans to (8) residents of the area to set up income-generating economic projects.
  • (1) greenhouse will be built and equipped with all the requirements, and (10) farmers will be trained to grow them.
  • (13) women will receive work grants to establish income-generating home businesses.
  • setting up a women’s forum for women in the town to hold meetings every two weeks for the purpose of social and cultural awareness in all aspects of life.
  • (3) vocational and training courses will be held (according to the needs and desires of the people of the area) to train (45) young men and women.
  • Distributing sheep to (6) animal breeders who have experience in this field.

 

 

Ongoing Activities

One of the initiatives that is now being carried out is a cosmetology course. 13 women from the Batnaya region have started a professional manicure and pedicure course in an effort to support women’s empowerment and the development of employment skills. The participants of the cosmetology course will receive certificates upon successful completion, which will serve as a testament to their newly acquired skills and knowledge. In addition, gifts which include cosmetics and tools.
